Are they of any threat to Chickens??
we have all the birds out roaming Big Girls and the Babies 6-8 weeks.
I seen him come visit from the neighbors yard a few minutes ago.

I had one that was living under my coop. I had posted here about it. They will not hurt the chickens but could burrow around the coop and run. That could be an accident waiting to happen if you step there and fall in. I have not seen mine in a long time. I think it got tired of the constant commotion around the coop and left all by its self.

And the burrows will attract skunks in the fall looking for a place to hibernate. Those in turn do harm chickens. Had one spray once under the coop and 24 hens when from 22 eggs a day to not a single one in almost 3 weeks. I mean they just stopped right now!
Feeding them for that long was no fun either!

Be careful when you walk around since one woodchuck can dig many burrows. Many cows have fallen and broken their legs because they didn't see the burrows. (Not calling anyone a cow.) But I fell into one while climbing around and was simply amazed at the size of it.
