Posted before about this lil' 8 weeks old guy which I thought had Marek's, but turned out to be a slipped tendon on his right side; pressuring the sciatic nerve which I fixed a week ago.

He was back 80% ish, walking around and doing his biz, semi normally, lil crouchy but functional.

Until tonight at closing time... lil scratch thrown around... he goes in ... then the whole flock ganged on him and literally pulled his brains out. They didn't attack anywhere but the back of his head.

Could be coincidence... "heat of the moment" thing but seems so deliberate... I felt like packing my freezer a dozen birds on the spot...

Culling a little guy with an open wound is messy. RIP and Godspeed, he had a good run.

Another feather into the "it is what it is" hat....

sorry a little tipsy... sucks but still..... godamn ...never thought my big girls would go dino saursus like this... nevertheless,,, comes meat packing time..... no look back... maybe that's intended.

They are dinosaurs, after all. Not just descended from dinosaurs- they never stopped being dinos. They're just avian dinos now.

If they were wild animals, keeping sick and injured members away from the main group would be important to their survival. Instinct tells them what to do. It's not malicious, just how they're programmed, but horrifying nonetheless.
