Grow-Gel

I should be getting my chicks today or Wend.

I ordered some Grow-Gel with them. Dawn at Meyer told me how to use it but I'm wondering....if I have that, do I still need to give them sugar water when they get home???

maybe is they seem to be tried.. gro gel is very good for them after the long trip

So I don't need to worry about the sugar water then? I was thinking the Grow-Gell would be enough.

yea after they eat the grow gel. they should be alot better, if not then i would give them a little bit of sugar water

grow-gel is supposed to be great for them- I got it for my chicks, but they weren't crazy about it... they barely ate any.

Did you mix it up and put it in a pan? That stuff looks kinda messy.

It is messy, but if they eat it it's good for them. I've had mixed results with chicks though ducklings go for it like crazy.

I use sugar water as well, bcause not all chicks will eat the gel. Just for the first day, then I switch to just electrolytes in the water unless someone isn't doing well.
