OMG they are adorable!
My daughter has already named the first three chicks we're getting. Cera (pronounced like Sarah), Teri, and Steggie - short for Triceratops, Pterodactyl, and Stegosaurus. She's really amused by the descendants-of-dinosaurs thing. She's going to be raising baby dinosaurs!
aww!!!My hen just hatched out 10 beautiful Mixed breed chicks on Monday. Hoping for at least 5 girls. I have one with feathered legs and one with muffs. The rest are normal in chick terms atm.

She’s hoping the last little one gets her name!
Your new babies are too adorable. Congratulations!
I’ll follow along. I mean who could resist? They grow so fast. It’ll be fun to watch them. Good luck kiddo![]()
Psst- tell your daughter that these aren't descendants of dinosaurs. They ARE dinosaurs. They're more closely related to a T-rex than a T-rex is to a stegosaur. The group with the theropods (raptors, tyrannosaurs, bird-shaped things, birds) split off from the group with all the non-theropods a long, long time ago, and all of the other group went extinct, but the theropods survived in bird form. The smallest known dinosaur is the hummingbird, which ounce for ounce consumes more fuel than a passenger jet, and your chickens are members of the most common species of dinosaur in the world.
