Growing A Toe?

Good News regarding antibiotics.

The swollen area did break open and then crust over. Our vet supplied us with antibiotic syringes and said they must be injected in the breast (NOT thigh). After 4 injections and a quick trip to the vet - all is well. He also recommended against packing the sore. He did a lit cleaning and said the infection was nearly gone and felt it should heal on its own. Total bill: $15.

At the same time we have a Ameraurcana with an injured eye. She, too, is getting antibiotics. She stays very close to the coop, actually preferring to stay inside. The vet recommended we wash the eye every day (actually 3x/day - ha, ha) with warm water for about two minutes (with a kitchen sink sprayer). So we will start that today and try to avoid drowning the poor thing. Does anyone have experience with a one eyed chicken - can they survive - she has her head tilted so that her good eye is sort of in the middle of her body when she walks - looks uncomfortable.
