Quote: That's what I resorted to. BOSS sprouted, hit a plateau and looked like it might go bad. Got it going again, and greening and leaves starting to form and it stopped and looked like it might go bad. I gave one container to the hens yesterday and one today (9 x 11 plastic containers). They loved it. I also gave them the little bit of wheat (one cup, after the process). It just started to sprout yesterday and then stopped growing and I picked out a few that looked to be going bad. They smelled okay. The girls ate them like popcorn. I suspect that my counters and sunroom are too cold. I can't justify turning up the heat for a little bit of fodder, so I think I will get a seed mat warmer (don't know what they are called) to help the process. I also had a jar of seed I was fermenting and it stalled so I rinsed it and gave it to them a few days ago. Now I am trying plain old layer feed. It isn't doing much either. Tomorrow morning will be 48 hrs for it and I'm feeding it out, regardless, before it molds.
