What types of grain can you grow to feed chickens? How much would you have to grow to have a decent supply? Would it even be worth the effort to grow your own grain?

i guess it depends on how much land u have and what equipment u have access to

Chickens arent picky, so anything would work.

The easiest to harvest by hand is corn and sunflowers

If you have more than just a few chickens, you'd need specialized equipment to harvest enough to be of use.

It's often cheaper to simply find a farmer to buy from directly

You could also plant about half an acre with a bag or two of cheap birdseed (WITHOUT cracked corn or rice), and let the birds harvest it themselves
