growing pekin ducks

We got our ducks only 1 week ago. Wow!!! they have grown so fast. Is there a way to tell which is male or female at 1 1/2 weeks? 1 of the ducklings is much bigger than the other, if that matters at all.

Anyway, these are the pictures of when we got them.

Also, why does the smaller one seem to get wetter? She was under water swimming this time, but seems not to repel water the way the larger does. She preens herself a lot in the water. Is she trying to activate her oil glands by doing this?

my seven will soon be a month old. they grow so fast. they are now in there own coop and love going down to the creek to play. swim under water, eat grass they are just amazing to watch. i read that ever time they swim it helps to stimulate there oil glands. mine are all sheding water realy well. even after a 30 min swim in the creek. a far as sexing them, i have no idea. although a few of mine are starting to quack a little.
