Today, at 5 1/2 weeks old, my three chickies moved out to the grow-out pen. They are getting big so fast. Some of my 6mo olds REALLY want to get into it with them. But that would end badly. I have the brooder lamp hanging in it with a 150W bulb on a timer, since it has been getting into the upper 30's overnight here. Pig pen, my cockerel, has been using the grow-out pen at nights while my BR he injured a month ago has been healing(mating wound, claw tore her skin open). I got the chicken saddles in the mail today for her and her BR sister(they are Pig Pen's favorites). So we shall see how this goes tonight.
