This Rhodie girl is just over 9 months old. We recently noticed a couple of growths of some type next to her right eye. The one is obviously much larger than the other. It neither feels hard, nor particularly soft, and does not feel hot. She appears otherwise healthy, is eating fine, and running with the rest of the flock of about 44 total while they are all out during the day.

Can anyone tell from the picture what these might be? Infection, warts, beauty marks?

This is a copy and paste of information that was passed on to me from a VERY knowledgeable BYC member. I posted something about a chicken sty a few days ago and dlhunicorn replied with this. Please see bottom. Again, this is a copy and paste that was provided to me. I had no idea what this was until I was educated by dlhunicorn. Now, I dont know if this is what your RIR has but I know this is what my girl has. Please go to the link and read the article. All acknowlegements go to dlhunicorn for providing this information to me. THANKS dlhunicorn.

This may indeed need to be removed by a vet (no anaethesia necessary I would think and so therefore should be affordable)
....it could be an abscess which in birds will not "burst" but must be manually expelled... see here:

ABSCESS (one of the best articles describing the condition in birds and comparison of the differences to mammals) ... written for the layman:
(small excerpt)
..."In birds the abscess must be opened and the accumulated pus scraped out manually. The abscessed area should then be cleaned with an antiseptic solution and wound medication placed on the site. Bandaging of the wound will aid in preventing further infection."

Good Luck. Let's all stay in touch and update on the progress of these conditions.

Did you ever find out what it was? My Bird has pretty much the same thing

I did, but I haven't got any response 🥺
