I have a Brahma with a weird growth on top of her toe by her feathers. She’s limping. But the growth doesn’t seem to bother her. Here’s some pictures 602AC147-0F9C-4167-BCE1-BB4EDB8E84EB.jpeg 441BCC46-90CA-4509-BC06-FB050C236D63.jpeg 5FA7D460-BFF8-4F54-814C-392D5B81E2E9.jpeg B1F36F40-C565-4281-8844-589E14266182.jpeg

This looks as if the feather did not come out of the follicle (ingrown feather) and might just be the reason for her limping.

You might want to soak her foot for some 15 minutes in warm water with Epsom salt and then try to get the feather out.

Yes, it was an ingrown feather!! I was able to pull it out. She’s limping much more now, but I think that she will feel better tomorrow. I put her in an Epsom bath and gave her some Vetercyin (not sure on spelling!) I think she will be better now!! 33271F21-ABC4-478C-A0B3-523C3D093090.jpeg A02AD6DB-7282-4105-9208-78EEC8B48E2F.jpeg 2595A5A9-0287-40A9-B7D2-A5DC8714DEC4.jpeg

Well done! I hope she will heal up nicely.

You might want to monitor her feet as breeds with heavy feathered feet are prone to have problems, especially when molting as the pin feathers hurt piercing through the skin and the toes easily get irritated or even infected.
