I think we have a snake problem

I know that we have some HUGE black snakes around. I like that they keep the copperheads out of the yard.

This morning I was doing a quick clean of the coop, 2 eggs in the nest. By the time I finished cleaning, there was another hen on the nest so I left the eggs alone. The girls went down about an hour later to fill the water. ZERO eggs. No cracked shells, no signs that any of the eggs were broken.

*sigh* borrowing a minnow trap, guess we'll find out if it's a snake

Good luck and if that doesnt work you can put a wooden egg in the nest and the snake wont be able to digest it and will die.

actually, there ARE fake eggs in the nests. They've not been touched
