Grrr........ Lost a rooster pheasant today.

I keep 3 to 10 traps set at all times. plus My walker and st. bernard help keep them away. If you have any trouble with fox get a couple guineas. I have fox that live not a 100 yards from my bird pens and have never had a problem with them.

The one rooster can easily take care of all five hens. I have six hens with mine - candled 35 eggs last night and only two were not fertile.

Thanks for the information folks. Much appreciated. No movement on the traps so far, and while I have a capable dog, he stays inside at night and doesn't roam free when we are not at home.
