Grrr...people and fish.

Murder can be applied anyway you want too, every one has
opinions. !

Its bad that people treat animals so bad these days. When we go to the fair I always play the pinball thingy with the gold fish. Just so I can give them a good home. I have some minnows in my turtle tank but we dont have anymore fish. Our last a betta died at 3yrs old, to fin rot.

good for saving the fish , remember " Helping those who can help themselves"

Storm horse, if you feel that the people killing the animals are murderers and wonder how they sleep at night...why do you eat them. I would think that would be worse you know. All animals on your plate must die to be there.

FCM, I think carp look beautiful BECAUSE they look like giant goldfish

I have nothing against people feeding fish or mice or any animal to other predator animals. Hey, I feed feeder fish to my ducks as snacks in the summer! I just hate when people make careless purchases and let the animal suffer. For the most part, people who raise animals for food either for themselves or other animals treat them very fairly and humanely.

Well, looks like I am still stuck with five fish since my friend decided to go with a betta fish instead. I'll just stick them in my pond and wait till spring to give them to my friend. I did take pictures after cleaning the tank again today though! I'll post them soon. They are pretty big goldfish!

lol, about a a quarter of my friends are vegetarian, and they are the hardest folks to feed. Major carnivores living in this house

I got some nice vegetarian recipes from them, though, so they aren't left hungry when they come over.
We had those iguanas at our fair. Mom dragged me away. She can always tell when I'm ready to make a scene. Back when she was a kid, someone gave her one of those necklaces with a live sea horse sealed in it. All her friends and sisters had them, you could win them at fairs or buy them in stores. Some had tiny lizards or fish in theirs. So people have gotten better with their attitudes towards animals, it's just a frustratingly slow process.

Word. My Chinese co-workers make wonderful carp meals.

The park near my childhood home now has so many goldfish "set free" and breeding in it that they made a local fishing exemption: Anyone can catch a carp in it, by any means except poison or electrocution, any size, at any season, for free.

I remembered the park as merely being full of aggressive ducks and geese, two swans. When I went back there for a crafts fair with my husband, there were so many orange goldfish, 7-10 inches long, in huge schools, that at first I thought it was some kind of orangey pollution.
