GRRR why are they plucking feathers!

My hens are starting to pull feathers bad!!!

Someone told be that if the lights on over night they might pluck, So I turned it off.

they get unlimited feed. Why are they plucking!

Usually feather picking is a protein problem. You might try game feed with free choice oyster shell for awhile. I would also buy some blu-kote spray. There are some other products which you put on chickens besides blu-kote but I cannot remember their names. All of it tastes bad and will strongly discourage picking at each others feathers.

I read that its a protein problem 30 mins ago. And they said soggy cat food is good for them. I diddent have cat food so I did puppy chow, with noodles, tuna, baby food, whole grain cerel. Maybe that will help
