Oh, and check this out...
Idiot married another idiot several years ago, and they're recently divorced. I liked him better than her, if that tells you anything. So anyway, they get divorced and he basically starts dating this lady whom we call "the cougar" directly after that...she's almost 50.
Anyway, the cougar is giving him problems right now -- I won't even go there.. It's got to do with another schizo guy, her own messed up children, and that she's been going to church for like 10 minutes and is suddenly WAAAAAY better than everyone else...or something...don't know, don't care.
Anyway, so moron did what he always does and started calling his ex-wife again, who by the way really only wanted the divorce because divorce = drama -- and she LOVES drama.
There's a dog component to all this, I promise...I'm going somewhere. Y'all are gonna just love it, too..
So, he calls up the ex and has lunch with her or whatever right in the middle of all this dog stuff, because ya know, making the cougar angry and stringing the ex along are every bit as important as his
actual responsibilities.. The ex ends up going to the vet's office with him to see the dog and talk to the vet. That happened to be when the vet recommended to put the dog down..
BIL actually agreed..
The doc draws up the lethals and the ex, in all her dramatic glory, says "STOP! I'M NOT READY YET!"
DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA
I said to my wife "...and you KNOW she waited until he was just about to push the plunger before saying anything, just to make the moment as dramatic as possible..." I think my wife was still just too stunned that her idiot brother let his EX WIFE make the decision to keep his dog suffering to have even really considered how dramatic she probably made the whole thing... I literally saw the look of horror come over her face as it sunk in..
Soooooo, yeah. That's why the dog's still alive -- so her bro's ex can create drama and/or have a reason to call him and come over. That's who these people are.
I'm really thinking we should put him, his ex, the cougar, the cougar's other guy, and the dog down at the same time....and possibly the cougar's kids, because they sound like supreme dbags in the making.
Aaaaaand pretty much he doesn't want any actual help from anybody, unless you agree to just go and sit with the dog and basically do nothing.
As you might imagine...it's just not possible for a person with a humane bone in their body to go and sit and do NOTHING for a dog that's suffering, so he's most likely going to get the kind of help from us that he's asking for -- NONE.
