I don't know. I only have 1 out of 8 laying and they are 23 weeks old. She started last week and is still giving me little eggs.

But what the heck! At least I have eggs!

But the waiting kills you!

Jen, you have to pretend that you don't care a lick about if they EVER pop out an egg. Like it's the last thing on your mind. They'll get mad and instantly try to impress you. Worked for me.

I have 30 that are 17 weeks old and none of them are laying. (all comets) I also have 7 -22 week old only two are laying, they are small eggs.

The anticipation is the worst part. Just ignore it and you will be covered up in eggs before you know it. Ours layed the first one last week. We now are getting at least one egg a day and think only 2 are laying. If you have 30 when they do start you will have plenty to sell.

This is just so unreal!

Got a little surprise in the ChIcKeN ShAcK today... around 3:00!!!!

OUR VERY 1ST EGG!!!!
Storm was coming so I decided to check on the chickies before it hit, give them fresh water and food, so while I was down there I popped my head in just to see and I almost didnt see the teeny tiny egg hidden in one of the nest boxes! The boys were down their with me and I scream... WE HAVE AN EGG, Dylan go get the camera! I have no idea who did it.... the buff Orpingtons, the Road Island Reds, the Bantams or the Easter Eggers (dont really think its one of them cause its not greenish)
