I just returned from a trip into town, I'm driving down the blacktop slowing down ready to turn into our lane - and there were ALL my guineas casually strolling across the road - I've never seen them on the road before, GRRRRRRRRRR! I drive into my lane, get out of my car and call them, we if I am honest - curse and swear at them - and they come running back towards me, so I hopped in my car and drove home with them running and screaming behind me! They huddle around the trunk when I'm unpacking the shopping, so I gave them a right old lecture about the dangers of cars and roads and they are absolutely not to go in that direction again.

Well a few stares and screams later, they waddled back off towards the barn..........I really am glad none of my neighbors are close enough to watch me with my flock, lol!

Happy Friday everyone!

LOL - and just one more RANT today - with the lighter evenings now, I have to go back out when its dark and shut the coop door when THEY have decided to go to bed for the night, IF, JUST IF, I stumble just one more time into one of their dust bowls that they have recently dug on my route to the coop, I shall totally shoot the lot of them! (Only joking of course - well kind of, no really, just joking............my life would never be the same without them - quiet, but never the same)

You are to funny. I feel that way about mine sometimes. But mainly my buck. He is a bad goat. He keeps letting mine out.

3x now. It is like if he is out and they are in he has to let them out. Does he not know that their are predators out there.

Oh, I feel your pain! We have yard craters and road guineas too.

If they are in the road when we leave or come back, we roll down our car windows and tell them them to go home. Sometimes they even do it! Knock on wood, we have not had one killed in the road for a while. It's a non-busy, dirt road but a few have gotten hit over the last few years. They love the cornfield across the way and generally make a tour over there each morning.

How is it that they manage to dig those holes right where we walk? I never find dusting holes in obscure areas of the yard, only where we step.

My goats did that once..... except I was trying to leave. Got down to the road to see four little fuzballs running and leaping and stirring up dust..... Maaaaaa .... Maaaaaa.... I turned around and they followed me back to where I could lock em up.
