I
found an old link on this forum. I have the same situation.
She/he looks like a golden comet, but huge comb and wattle suggets male, but male supposed to be white in color. If she is a he, then what breed?

When you google golden comet hen they look just like your girl above. So I will guess she is a girl

How old is she? Can we get a side on full body shot? Maybe pics of the saddle feathers right in front of the tail would help.

she/he is about 12 weeks.
we think we heard some kind of crow in the morning, in combination with the secondary sex characteristics, make us think roo, but puzzled about the breed, supposed to be sex-linked.

about 3 weeks

what exactly does saddle feather look like at this age? Would it be possible for you to show me a picture?
Why is he/she making a crowing noise in the morning? It is low pitched but suspicious.

this guy has been pretty roo-looking since she/he's very young, pictures below are about 4-5 weeks.
i kept thinking it is a girl as it is a sex-linked chicken with orange color after all, until now i am really not sure.

I don't think it's a Golden Comet at all. I'm guessing New Hampshire roo.

Something occurred to me and I have to ask...

Did you get this bird from a backyard breeder? I'm wondering if perhaps someone bred a GC to a GC thinking that would make more GCs?

Young Rooster (on color alone), and is a "Hatchery Type" New Hampshire.

Chris
