GT Farm. New to forum, and chickens

GT stands for Georgia, and Tre, which are are our two youngest. We start our little chicken farm two months ago, with 8 hens that were already laying

. I know we cheated a little bit, we just wanted to get a jump on things and get those fresh eggs coming.

The two months went by fast, built a few things. A run/habitat that is 14ft wide and 40ft long. The coop is 4ft by 8ft and 8ft tall, all the winds I put sun screen over the openings, trying to give the chickens a break from the sun. Oh I forgot to mention we are in Las Vegas, hence the sun screening on the windows.

We currently have a total of 30 chickens, only 8 laying at the moment, the rest are chicks. Here is the break down of our flock.

Layers
3 Rhode Island Reds
3 Delawares
2 Barred Rocks

Chicks
6 Rhode Island Reds
4 Barred Rocks
4 Golden Sex
4 Americannan (2 Month old)
3 AMericannan 4 Days old
and 1 we are really not sure yet, she was really small and really cute, I just couldn't resist

Glad you joined!
I bet you're enjoying the eggs. Love the pic, it's very cute. When I was a bit younger I'd love to hold the chickens too. Not so much anymore, the ones we have now have rather... strong personalities. :lol:
