guard donkeys!

we would get a large donkey but we got an electric fence it has it at the middle and top. dogs cant get in or out. so its ok. we have dogs to. we have back up. and guns. haha.
 
If you possible think about adopting from the BLM the wild ones are great guardians and come with fresh instructions from Mother Nature on How Too!! The BLM burros are very easy to tame down it took a whole 45mins with our first one!

Standard size for sure for guard duty. Even so, smaller preds such as a weasel will get past the donkey at night. I have a friend who lost 24 young chick pullets to a weasel overnight while the female ass was in the pasture with them. I have no doubt that a coon or fox could sneak past the donkey after dark too. Basically, they are great for daytime duty against any pred big enough to be seen in daytime and dogs and coyotes at night. Exception will be hawks and owls.
