guess I will turn off the lights

I live in Australia and find the direct opposite happens here. Mine lay the whole way through winter (we don't get snow) but tend to quit laying and molt in really hot weather . It's spring here and has been incredibly hot the last few weeks even for us and I have a heap that have quit laying and gone into molt.I have a vast variety of chicken breeds too.

I noticed the same thing. I was going to pass o the lights, you know to let nature take it's course. But the girls seem much happier (and are eating/drinking/playing/laying) better with just a little bit of early light. Just a couple of hours seems to do the trick.
