i am a very popular chicken that started the "hen craze" in the 1800s
I'm extremely fluffy and i have heavily frathered legs
i sport a single comb
my bantam form comes in lots of colors
my standard form doesn't come in as many colors as the bantam but is still rather popular
i am a very docile chicken
i go broody often

Okay...

I originated in the United States.
I am commonly found as a heavier breed, but I can be a bantam.
I am a great egg layer and give out large brown eggs.
But I'm also a dual-purpose chicken.
I come in several different colors, one being my most common variety.
I have a single comb.
I am relatively cold hardy.
I have red earlobes.
Chicken owners everywhere seem to really like me and seem to have one of me.

What could I possibly be?
