Hello!

We hatched out some chickie darlings late last month, and were hoping to get some ideas of what is what with a few of them- we figured out the others, but these four have us a little stumped. They were a batch of mystery eggs, we know three of them are suppose to be rainbow layers of some sort, but that's about it!

Here they are:

We also have a silver polish that we were hoping to figure out the sex of. Here is Freddy:

Thanks luvs!

I think you have some welsumers and they look to be all hens.

Behavior is a biggy. Roos grow quick, first to show red in combs/wattles, feathers come out first. Look at past pics and see whose tail feathers came out first. Roos usually feather quicker. They are the ones in the group looking side eyed and standing on the front line. Lol Polish looks to be a hen.

First is a female Easter Egger
Second is a male something
Third is another female Easter Egger
Four is a male something

The polish looks like a male

Thanks so far everyone!

We are pretty certain that the first and third are gals as well, but we aren't certain on the second, and very suspicious of the fourth.

From what we have observed, the second (who definitely looks like a welsummer now that it's been mentioned!) is aloof, but always hides out behind the others. These guys were handreared so they are all pretty affectionate, but that one always has to be caught despite this. But they aren't aggressive.

Meanwhile, the fourth is a total hoodlum as of this week. They would not leave the polish, Freddy, alone, kept trying to pull feathers out and such, so we put the suspected 'him' and the two buff orpington pullets we have in a separate pen. Leaving Freddy, and the three others shown above besides mister potential cockerel, in their own pen. Everything has been chill since.

They are five weeks old, entering their sixth week in a couple days.

Appears to be an Easter Egger, a Welsummer, another Easter Egger, and I'm undicided on the fourth. It appears white and the legs have a blue cast to them... Did they have a list of what could be included in the assortment? The Polish appears to be male.

#1. Easter Egger? Looking pullet so far.
#2. Welsummer pullet. Her coloration is female specific. Cockerels feather in black or mottled in the breast region.
#3. Easter Egger, likely pullet.
#4. Hmmm....White Rock? On the fence as to gender. :)

No idea on the Polish. They're all lovely! :love
