depends all on personality. I had a calico cat who was sweet as pie, by comparison her ginger tabby brother was a complete and total....yeah.
I have noticed that out of the tortoiseshell cats I've had 3 of the 4 were skiddish and not very social, my latest, Emry is ALWAYS under feet, her sister is a calico and spends most of her time outside now.
He is...interesting. We found him in our yard in some bushes 2 summers ago. He was I'm guessing around 1 month old. He didn't like anyone at all, but I was convinced I was gonna have a new kitty. So I layed by the bushes and waited for hours and hours until finally he warmed up to me and let me pet him. Now he only likes me and my family and runs when he sees strangers. He also doesn't let you pet him for very long..I think he just likes us for the food..I love him anyways.
But yeah, I guess it all depends on the cat.
