Guess we're getting some lambs

Good luck with your lambs I have heard that the breed is a very easy keeper. I have tunis which I absolutly love and some mutts. I am hoping to eventually get my flock to nothing but pure tunis but they at times are a little harder to find.

I would try and contact a local breeder. That is how I started. We went out to see their sheep and they sent us home with a package of chops! Most of the breeders I have encountered have been great.
Breed Registry Though I am sure you have found the link by now.

One thing about lamb is not to over cook it. And the stuff in the store is, well, overfed, grain, and kept to long, they like to butcher at 150lbs. The rest of the world butchers at 50-80lbs, grass fed.

Looking at how Americans handle lamb vs the rest of the world is interesting.

I really like my Katahdins. I used to raise Romneys and still have Suffolks, 2. Katahdins cross well with other breeds and I have had no disease issues. Though I have a closed flock. I worm once a year and don't have issues with weights. They grow well on just grass.
