Guess What?.... Chicken butt. But like for real.

EE gets heavy amounts of hard crap stuck on her but for no reason. It get's bad and builds up very quickly and is hard to get off. To get it off we soak her but when it's 20 degress out I don't wanna put her bum in a bucket of water. It has to be handled otherwise left untreated it will literly cover her vent.
I agree. It can become an issue when this happens, my BR hen had this happen to her earlier this summer and we had to make the decision of what to do. All we did was clean up her vent area and feathers, and removed the chunk of poop stuck to her feathers with warm water (she was not a fan) you could trim your hens vent feathers but I find that unnecessary because once we cleaned up my BRS vent it didn’t happen again- although maybe your having an issue because of the vent feathers, in which case I would take matter into your own hands to decide what’s best for her.

Thank you for sharing @CHICKEN EE actually enjoys having her butt soaked (I think because of so much attention) and is very well behaved (she even has fallen asleep while we did it a few times) but with the cold weather coming we had to change what to do

Are her poops loose/watery?

Wrap her up as suggested and trim away. I keep a pair of dedicated chicken scissors in the coop....just in case. ;)
Nose hair scissors work well here, short curved and rounded tip blades.

but messy poopers I'll cut down to maybe 1/2" from the skin.
Yeppers. Worked here too.

Also on more than one ocasion the poo has pulled out few feathers (and she's starting to moult right now, poor girl started that this morning) But the poo has been a long going issue
I soaked off the dingle berries once .... never again, it was disgusting.
Plus it didn't solve the problem.
