I agree. It can become an issue when this happens, my BR hen had this happen to her earlier this summer and we had to make the decision of what to do. All we did was clean up her vent area and feathers, and removed the chunk of poop stuck to her feathers with warm water (she was not a fan) you could trim your hens vent feathers but I find that unnecessary because once we cleaned up my BRS vent it didn’t happen again- although maybe your having an issue because of the vent feathers, in which case I would take matter into your own hands to decide what’s best for her.EE gets heavy amounts of hard crap stuck on her but for no reason. It get's bad and builds up very quickly and is hard to get off. To get it off we soak her but when it's 20 degress out I don't wanna put her bum in a bucket of water. It has to be handled otherwise left untreated it will literly cover her vent.
