I realize I probably should not ask, but I seem to be driven by morbid curiosity--unless you've already had grandchildren that have been successful (either financially or by your standard, being self-supporting, fertile and healthy), how exactly do you know that your genes are any good whatsoever?
Most people's aren't, regardless of their agricultural skills. I'm just saying. Mine included, I've got genes for shortsightedness, various types of cancer, dementia and polydactyly. But my family, despite containing all those crummy genes (plus many more: deafness, mental retardation, seizure disorders, dwarfism, maple syrup urine disease, lots more), has nevertheless managed to raise all their own food, textiles, and been completely self-sufficient for about 400 documented years.
