Canidae is one of the 4 star dog foods so that's definitely great that your feeding it. We can't get it where I am without driving for ages! We have a mastiff, a fila, And they eat. And Eat. And EAT!!! There is no stopping the massive appetite of a mastiff. Once Our girl matured to 3.5 years old she began to gain weight from food so watch out! An egg a day shell and all will keep her coat shiny and her skin healthy but thats all it takes.

By the way Justbugged, You may want to make a small door on your coop so he can't enter it and feast on eggs.

He can't get into the coop at all. I had set them on the side table that is attached to the gas BBQ. So I just have to remember to not set them where he can get them. For a long time I would collect the eggs and put them into my jacket pocket. I now try to not do that either anymore. I broke at least 2 when I forgot that eggs were on my pocket.

All 4 of my dogs will eat grain. Right now I have 18 chicks in the shed. All the food they spill out of their brooders my dogs eat. They are silly. Dogs will be dogs. Mine also eat the goat feed if they can and other animal feces. Yuck,. Good luck.

We often wonder why we buy different kind of food for our critters. The ducks eat the dog food, the dog eats the layer mash. The donkeys will also eat the dog food and the chickens like the sheep feed. Go figure!

I don't know how close you are to a butcher, but a big ol' beef bone seems to slow down our saint/mastiff. I think the chewing satisfies some of the craving foods. She's just 7 months and 100lbs.

As for the smaller door on the coop, I have no idea how our girl does it, but she still goes in and out of the 12X18 inch doggie door in our house! That door was put in for the cockerpoo, but she uses it too.
