One male Guinea attacked another. There is a small hole in side of head of victim. How do you recommend I treat this? I’m concerned about infection. Should I bring him to the vet? Is there an over-the-counter antibiotic I can give him and if so where can I buy it?

How do I attach a photo on an iPhone?

Please help. His head is still bleeding. Is there anything I can do to safely stop the bleeding. Is a bit lethargic. I gave him hydro hen water and rescue 911 water. He is drinking, but I have not seen him eat any of his food.

Rinse or wash off the blood, and apply basic first aid like wound ointment.
Are you talking about the ear?
It doesn't look that bad, just scraped up.

Poor guy, he's been pecked pretty badly.

The hole you see if his ear canal, it usually has a little more feathers there, but they have been plucked.

Rinse/clean the wounds with Saline since this is on his head, around the eyes, etc. The Saline will not hurt if it gets in his eyes. You can use purchased or make your own. Recipe below.

Once cleaned, apply a small amount of triple antibiotic ointment to his wounds. You can put a thin layer in the ear opening too if you wish.

If his eyes get goopy or crusty which can happen sometimes when there's been an attack or fight, just rinse them with saline too. You can use either Terramycin Eye ointment in the eyes or Original Neosporin.

The lethargy may be from shock and stress. Electrolytes are a good idea. Place him somewhere quiet so he can rest. Hopefully he'll perk up in a day or two. Keep us posted.

For Saline:
Mix 2teaspoons table salt to a quart of water, bring to boil, reduce to a simmer for 15minutes. Cool. Store in a sanitized jar for up to 24hrs, then make fresh.
