I have seen references to guinea breeding season in a couple threads here. Rather than thread-creep the other threads, I thought I would ask my questions directly.....

When is guinea breeding season?

Does the hen stop laying when the season ends, or does she just lay infertile eggs?
Can the season be extended with artificial light (like chickens)?

I want to hatch a batch this fall, but will move my plans forward if biological cycle dicates.

Breeding season for Guineas is early Spring thru Fall. Some start later, some stop sooner... depends on the weather, temps, age of the flock, their health and diet etc. You may get a few eggs during the cold months (most likely infertile), but typically my girls quit laying once they molt in the Fall and do not start up again until the following Spring. I have not tried artificial lighting to extend the season, I prefer to give my Hens a break so I can't speak from personal experience on if that's possible or not.
