Guinea broody on Infertile eggs- help?

I have a similar problem, but a little different. My Guinea is sitting on her eggs in the middle of our garden, and it is starting to rain here in Kentucky. I wonder if I should gather up her and the eggs and put them in a coop, hate it they are in the weather.
You can try but I doubt it would work. There are always exceptions to every rule but for the most part, guineas do not take well to having their nest messed with. The most likely result of moving her and her eggs will be her abandoning the eggs. Some people have had some success by putting the eggs and the hen inside a large dog carrier and it has not worked for others.

Good luck.

I have found with my guinea hens that if I remove all the eggs from the nest that it will stop them from being broody. They may go check the empty nest for a day or two but then they are back to normal. I don't confine the hen to keep her off. ;)

@Angus2914 how did you make out with your guinea hen in the rain? I haven't had good luck moving hens, but others have. Mine tend to abandon a nest that's been played with here. It gets difficult later in the season when they go broody. I have one laying in the middle of my tomato patch. I go in every couple of days just to keep the number of eggs down so she won't go broody on them. If I were to remove them all together, she'd lay in another area and I'm afraid they would accumulate and I would lose her to predators. Best to know where she is and help keep the charade going until she stops laying in a few weeks. Tough decision to make and we want to keep them safe. Good luck and keep us posted on your outcome. It's always good to hear how things get resolved - helps us learn and make better decisions.
