We had a pair of Guineas wander into our yard a month or so ago and we couldn't find the owners so we've adopted them and have been feeding them. Every night they hop into the fenced portion of our yard and head up into the tree to roost. A couple days ago, one of our dogs got after one and we think either pulled its feathers out or hurt its wing.

This evening, they just hopped the fence to head up to roost in the tree and only one of them made it up. The other couldn't make it. I setup a step ladder out under the tree hoping it would find its way up the ladder rungs to get access into the tree but I think I waited to long to try this and it was too dark, the Guinea found a spot in our fenced yard and hunkered down for the night.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do? They won't let us get close enough or touch them to examine the wing, let alone try to get them to a vet. Will it heal on its own? What should we do??
