What's the genetic make up of a Slate?
Is Royal Purple recessive to Pearl? Do RP keets feather out with barring on the feathers?
Curious as my pair- pied slate male and pied pearl female are raising a brood(about 1 1/2 months old by now) of 2 whites, couple pied pearls, couple pearls and a couple ?? they had a slightly different striping pattern on their keet down and their current feathers are more barred than spotted(the other keets are now growing out obviously spotted feathers).. does this sound like RP? These also had white faces and bellies but couldn't tell if it was due to pied or RP.. or both.. one of these keets looks like it is going to be a pied whateveritis.
