Guinea Eggs: How many days incubation?

My handbook says 26-28 days for guineas, and that's the time frame my last batch hatched within. I have 5 more eggs due to go into lockdown on Wednesday the 21st. I'll be taking them out of the turner and putting them into the hatcher to lie still until they start hatching. Of course, once they hatch, they start running over all their unhatched clutch mates and bowling with eggs!

Yah, my research 26-28 also, but mine hatched at 23 on lockdown day! Yipes! I lost two early to shrinkwrap because they pipped when I wasn't home and the humidity was too low. If I do guinea eggs again I'm locking down early.

I gave up on keeping the hatched chicks in the brooder - had to take them out once a day since they are nutso!

I leave the first day hatch in a day but then start pulling after that as my guineas seem to hatch fron 23 - 28 days. I also up the humidity to 70 but even then I seem to have some not break the bladder even though they have peeped. I am lucky with a 70% hatch rate. I do not candle because I have misread the candle too many times in the past. At day 30, I throw away what has not hatched unless it is moving or singing.

What temperature should it be at once I lock down? I'm going to do that late today.

Today is day 27 or 28, and not a sign of hatching, not a sound not a crack in any egg. About 10 days ago, I checked the temperature, which had been hovering around 100-101, and it was at 103.5. I immediately turned it down and opened the hatcher to let out the excess heat. I don't know how long it was at that temperature. Could all the chicks be dead? I know they were developing because I candled them 2 weeks ago.

This is the second round. We got 1 keet from 30 eggs last time, and I wonder if the temperature went bonkers one day out of that hatch, too.

I am letting my hens hatch their own eggs first time not sure what I am doing I have 15 eggs so far when will the hens start to set on them as of now no one is setting
