Guinea fertility?

When do guineas reach their peak fertility? Like chickens are 6 - 18 months, geese are years 2 and 3 . . . When do they start laying, and are they seasonal or will they lay anytime? Thanks

Guineas are seasonal layers laying in the spring, summer, and early fall months. My will lay something like early April through late October. I think they can start to lay at the age of 5-6 months. In the beginning of the laying season the fertility rates won't be that good but after a few week they will go up and be at their peek for the rest of the season.

I too have a question about their eggs. Mine were hatched last July. They started laying in November 2011, and into Dec. I guess it wasn't cold enough, although they didn't lay for long.
They have started up again, one egg a day from the two females, but theres nothing attached to the yolk at all. No squiggly little white thing, you see in a normal chicken egg, no dots either, or rings suggesting they are fertile. Just a perfect yolk, and the 'white'. I have 3 males running with them. I have purchased an incubator, and hope to use it asa it comes! I am thinking not, now. Can anyone tell me if those eggs will change? Or do they not have that squiggly white thing. I should know what its called, but I don't, ,lol.

It's called the Chalaza... and they aren't real obvious in my Guinea's eggs, usually clear. The Blastodisc is really small and faint in an unfertilized egg, maybe you missed it?

Thanks so much! I must have missed that little dot, lol. I do need reading glasses, and maybe if I take them outside, I can see better! I will have another look next time I crack an egg!
