Looking for some advice. We purchased 2 guinea keets from Rural King yesterday. Today the ones bottom was messy. Not bad, nothing a wet warm paper towel couldn't clean up. After cleaning him I seen his bottom was swollen. Thought it might look better this evening. Looks the same but I took notice the other keet was pecking at it. Any advice on what may have caused this or how to treat this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The swelling could be from constipation, offer wet chick feed and see that he is drinking well.

Keep the bum cleared of poop. For swelling you can soak the bum in an epsom salt solution and apply hemorrhoid cream. If the other is pecking at it, that can cause damage. Use some Blu Kote to help hide the redness or separate them until the swelling goes down.

Thank for your response. I have done everything you stated.

His bottom today just looked like it was at one point wet and then the peep fuzz dried stuck together instead of fluffy. I soaked him in warm Epsom salt water, dried him and applied hemorrhoid cream. The other one doesn't seem to notice it anymore so I didn't have to apply the Blu Kote. I have wet chick starter in with him but I have not seen him eat it. I haven't been able to catch him drinking either.

He is still swollen and will not sit on his bottom. Stands to sleep with his head resting on the other one. I did see him poo and it was normal.

Going to try and get a picture so you can see.

Thanks once again. I will post the picture here in a little bit.

When I went out to get his picture I saw him drinking. I forgot to mention he runs around like nothing is wrong. Just hope the little one gets better. Sorry not the greatest picture. Only have my tablet to take pictures and it doesn't take the best close ups.
