I have 3 guinea keets around 6 weeks old that have been together since born and no problems. Yesterday I look out and 2 of them are head to head pecking each other. I run out and break up and notice the one is pecked up pretty bad around face and eye swollen. I have them separated now but what I'm wondering is WHY they decided to duke it out like that?

Sounds like two little equally matched males trying to establish their pecking order (dominance). When the participants are pretty much equal the fights can be long lasting and nasty and damage causing. Sometimes it helps to isolate the aggressor for a week or two before allowing it back into the group.

oh boy..I was wondering if maybe that was what was going on. I figured either that or they were getting tired of being in small run and want out to follow the older guineas. I think tomorrow or Saturday I will let them out to free range. Thank you R2elk
