Hi all, so excited here. One of my hens hatched out 21 keets. She is being a great mama. Another hen (i think a hen) is sharing the duties. I checked the nest after they left and one must have hatched but wasnt ready to take off yet. I checked all the eggs, 2 more were alive and have since hatched. I put the first one with mama the next day. The second I will probably do tomorrow. The third has a splayed leg. She is taking them everywhere. I have set out several waters and feeders. So 24 total .

Now waiting on the second nest. It was due to hatch over the weekend and 3 hens lay together on it. I havent seen any keets yet. Fingers crossed.

I would be a nervous wreck allowing the keets to free range at that size. I would totally have them penned up for the 1st couple of weeks.

Best of luck to you:thumbsup

We tried to! That was my thought too. But the 2 mamas are fierce and we couldnt catch them! So we thought we would see what happens. My son and I have both gotten flogged or chased. May have to try again.

Do you have a coop or pen that they will take them into for the night? if so I would shut them in there after dark and leave them for a week or so.
