Whenever when they start pipping still in the shell.

The day old keets at the farm and ranch store are always making noises.

Mine were making noise before they even pipped from the shell, especially when I was playing music for them.

I just want to say the first time I heard a Guinea (at a relatives' farm in Herefordshire) I thought I'd stumbled into "Land of the Lost". The noise grew on me; but christ that was just shockingly loud!!
