I’m glad to have the specifications needed as I told my son I would help him build a bigger cage. Lordy knows I have plenty of hardware cloth.

I can't help with health issues, but I know quite a bit about enclosures.
Its doesn't have to be expensive, you can make it out of NIC grids.
Something like this would be perfect for them

You can hear his breathing well in this video. He also sounded like he coughed or sneezed right after I stopped recording. When he is just setting in his cage he doesn’t make this noise as often or for as long.

Theirs is aspen shavings. They can't be on pine or cedar, it's too strong-smelling and it is irritating.
Paper bedding is good.
