Guinea pigs & ducklings health?

I've had my pair of pet guinea pigs for a few years and they've ended up basically having their own small separate bedroom.

I'm also incubating/hatching ducklings for the first time and have planned to keep the duckling brooder in the guinea pig room. But are there any specific diseases or health concerns that the ducklings could pass to the guinea pigs (or vice versa)? I know to be careful of their respiratory systems, and thankfully my Guinea pigs have always been healthy so far, but just wanted to make sure I'm not overlooking anything that would needlessly put them at risk. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Most diseases do not spread between birds and mammals.

If they were out in a shed or barn, I might worry about general dust and smell. I know rabbits are sensitive to air quality, so I assume guinea pigs are as well. But inside your house they should be fine: the dust and smell would annoy you before they got bad enough to be dangerous to guinea pigs.

I’ve never kept my ducks & pigs together, but since you’re already aware that the pigs have respiratory problems, it sounds like you’re ahead of the game. My only concern would be getting the pigs wet, or them getting too drafty if you’re airing the room out. I’m sure you’ve noticed that ducks love water, are messy & their poop is pretty vile.

I see you posted this a few weeks ago. I’d love to hear what you decided to do & how it’s working out. Pictures would be great too!
