Guinea problems

I have a guinea that I thought had Cocci as she was lethargic and ruffled. However, I have been treating her, and she has started eating better, but I notice that her wing also seems droopy. Do guineas get twisted wing, and could that cause her to be unsteady sometimes when she walks? She falls over if she gets excited and moves too fast. I have only seen it twice. I just want to get her better. THanks for any help.

The droopy wing may be from the Coccidiosis. We had some chicks get Coccidiosis earlier this year and one of the signs they had was droopy wings. For some reason, usually only one wing would droop at a time. I know the first time I saw it happen, I thought my chick had injured it's wing. I would say keep treating her for the Coccidiosis. It's a rough one - we did lose a few chicks to it, but usually if you can catch it like you did and start treatment most birds can pull through.

Thanks so much. Sad thing is, she is still struggling, but I continue to treat. Night before last though, a bear (we think) tore the side out of our chain link fencing and ate one of our guineas and ripped a wing from another. Bless the sickly one, she's still plugging along, as is the one winged one. We are treating the wound and he seems okay, but can't fly anymore, of course. They are really amazing little birds. I want a yard full now.

I had to put the sickly girl down. Sad day here at our house, but she was getting worse. The wingless one and injured one are doing well and on the mend. Looking to find some more guineas since they have proven to be much more loveable than I ever imagined.

Aww...I'm sorry.

It's hard to lose a loved guinea; I was so upset when we lost two of our male guineas(at separate times) by predators. I find it so amazing how they can pull through attacks like that. They're a lot stronger/ have the mind to pull through than we think they are! Hope you find some wonderful new guineas; they're really a great, fun, and productive bird to have. : )
