I have ordered the book gardening with guineas but have a question. Do guineas scratch like chickens and will they destroy my vegetable garden's raised beds and mulched flower beds if I let them free range? Our chickens destroyed our mulched beds!

thanks
Chris

They dont scratch as bad as chickens do. My guineas have yet to bother my flower beds or my vege garden. Guineas will walk thru the flower beds and pick off the bugs they find. I think they have so many "better places to be" and arent interested in the flowerbed or garden.

Guineas are much better around flower beds than chickens but they still like to take dust baths. If you provide them a place to bathe, they are much less likely to ruin your beds. I wouldn't trust them in the garden. They like new sprouts and things like tomatoes.
