I also live on a busy street, speed limit is 50 mph....my birds have acres and acres of fields and woods to roam behind my farm, yet every few days a neighbor calls me to tell me the birds have come across the road to visit. Interesting, the cars have slowed down for the birds (knock on wood) but the same cars will whiz by me either on a 1200 pound horse or with two horses in hand trying to cross. If someone has a solution other than keeping them in, id love to read it! Oh and chasing them home just results in my getting extra exercise, the birds go right back to where they were.
