I have 5 Rhode Island Reds that were raised with Guineas. The RIRs are now laying and I just found guineas in the coop when hens are laying and devouring the eggs. What can be done to stop them? Right now I have been locking the guineas out of the run-in and coop when hens are laying but worry about hawks etc. getting them. Hens and Guineas get along well, free roaming during the day going into the coop together every night.

In my experience Guinea fowl are extremely single minded, and once they start on a behavior it is nearly impossible to redirect them. My gut says that the only solution is permanent separation - hope that someone has a more optimistic solution.

Aren’t roll out nest boxes something of a universal solution to egg eating behavior? I have a hen that’s started eating eggs so I’ve been looking into these...
