Guineas with clipped wings...

If a guineas wings are clipped can they still hop 4ft up?????

My guineas are just eggs now, but i'm planning on keeping them perminatnly fenced and moving them around our wooded property with turkeys and possibly pheasants in with them as they forage....

Is this realistic will they hop out even with wings clipped? I assume most people let them keep their wings but I won't be able to do that... because the neighors flock of guineas I am afraid to risk loosing them to his flock OR stealing his flock and being accused of doing it on purpose lol!!!

Soooooo..... guinease with clipped wings... pheasants with clipped wings... possible to keep them in a 4ft tall fence or a big NO?

Monarc, as long as they are still eggs they will stay where you put them.

If you clip the wings ,just clip one wing. That way it throws them off balance when they try to fly.

I dont know if thet will stay in a 4 ft fence even with their wings clipped.. I dont think the pheasants will stay at all in a four ft fence

But you could give it a try with the guniea's they might just stay

yeah i assumed pheasants would probably be pro jumpers Sounds like im going to have to just buy bird netting for the top of the fence like I did for my marans and only fence them in the pasture and in the side yard. (so that no trees get in the way LOL!!!

I'd put a top on the pen. Even if the guineas can't get out, something can get it and with clipped wings getting away is difficult. It seems like guineas are a tasty snack for just about everything.

Top their pen. It's the better option.

With clipped wings, they "may" stay in a four foot fence, but it won't keep your neighbor's guineas out. With only a four foot fence, a fox could easily get at them, and then they would be sitting guineas.

It's no matter ive already planned my tactics. Professional poultry netting, and professional poultry top netting stuff... it'll be about $400 when all is said and done but with hubby back to work I can think big! LOL!
