gun collection

You can contact your local police department and tell them of your situation. However, the first thing they will do is check the serial numbers and make sure the weapon are not listed as stolen. Many pawnshop owners are licensed to deal in firearms. You can google firearm laws for your state and see what are your legal options. NRA can give you some information but they are not too popular right now.
I am NOT contacting the local police department!! Our police department is made up of good old boys who have lots of friends who are good old boys. As far as I am concerned, the fewer good old boys who know I have all these guns the better.

Here is a site that has all 50 states gun laws, and it you don't want http://www.nraila.org/gun-laws.aspx and an site to get a gun blue book
http://bluebookofgunvalues.com/. Maybe you can check your local library or use interlibrary loan to get a copy. Though probably not this year's addition. As for not wanting to get involved with your local police, if your collection like my mother's which was all of two, lol came from an older male family memeber, maybe you can check to see if any of his friends are still alive. My mother found one of my grandfather's friends who collects guns through his church and he gave her a fair price on what she had. And if you don't keep the money from the sale, you could donate it like my mother in my grandfather's memory to a charity that your relative might have been interested in.

Thanks for the link. I am not sure how many guns there are, but it is not two. I know it is more than ten because there are at least five under the bed in my bedroom. Maybe more. I haven't had the courage to look. The rest are in a place I am not agile enough to get to.

I hope it is less than 20 all told. My step brother will be coming out in the spring to help me inventory them. He is strong, energetic, likes guns, and can easily get up and down steep stairs. I can't do that without breaking my neck.
