Gun control and the second amendment....

If you believe that you also must believe that prohibition cured alcoholism and stopped people from drinking.. Not to mention all the drug laws we have that stopped the illegal drug problems here in America, not to mention legal ones. More laws seldom and most cases never cure a problem.
Read it again, I said slow down, not stop... Don't try to twist my words. I know that we can't stop stupidity, and evil...

Seriously? This is your argument? Penalized for serving his country? If you want him to have an assault rifle, just go buy one. There are no penalties involved.
First of all it's not "my argument" as you so quaintly put it.. I was just stating a fact

I cant Just go out and buy one legally when the stores are already restricting sales... I cant force them to sell me something that they do not wish to sell
besides.. I already spent a ton on christmas gifts for his family.. SOME of us are not rich enough to pull several thousands of cash out of thin air at a moments notice.. Maybe you are lucky enough to be able to do that. But we are not. Which is another reason why he had planned on buying a gun when he gets back.

It's not like the stores said "hey we're gonna restrict sales of guns soon so save your cash now".. this was done without any warning.

So are you suggesting I go rob a bank so I can buy a gun illegally???

Also.. not that it means much to some people.. but he DOES want it registered in his name.. so if I did have the cash laying around to go buy one last week it would be in MY name and NOT his

From my understanding its already starting..some bigger stores that sell guns have suspended sales on some types of rifle sales..Dicks and Cheaper than Dirt are 2 that i've heard about so far..
NOT sure if its true though..maybe someone can check if they are interested..

it's happening here too.. I already checked

I don't care how many guns you have - I want them registered, and I want to know that YOU have been trained to safely use them, that YOU are mentally compitant, and the YOU take proper steps to keep your weapons out of the hands of others. I think if YOU want a whole basement full of guns, the YOU should be subject to stricter scrutiny.

Maybe some of these steps happen with the transfer of a gun, but since I can trade my FryDaddy for a rifle, clearly lots of times these things don't happen.

Hence my husband wanting to purchase the gun he wants himself. HE has been trained in depth on how to use it.. I have not
I'm fine with a shotgun and a handgun.. but the gun he wants I have ZERO training in.. Sure I can aim and pull a trigger.. but if I cant also break it down and clean it.. I figure I am not properly trained in how to care for it and use it properly. Which is why this particular gun should be in his name and NOT mine since I have no business in handling a weapon I have not been properly trained to use.
