You would need to buy a large quantity to make it worth paying the transfer fee...

I get most of my ammo from friends that live in other states. At some point we'll have to get a background check to purchase ammo. The law has already been passed, but the system to record all of this new data hasn't been created yet.
 
I also have an H&R .410 in 2,5 chambering Topper that I got for Christmas in 1959 when I was 8. Many a squirrel and bunny fell to this piece. The surprising thing is how well it shoots rifled slugs (not for deer). Still use it for back yard trap shooting.
i heard stories of an older lady who used .410 slugs for moose, my grandpa has a .410 they seem like nice little shotguns.
